RVTools Integration
Overview
RVTools is a powerful VMware utility that provides detailed information about your virtual infrastructure. The nOps integration with RVTools enables you to import comprehensive VMware environment data into the nOps platform for enhanced cloud assessment capabilities.
This integration provides critical information on VM-to-host relationships, resource allocations, and virtual infrastructure dependencies that significantly improves migration planning accuracy.
Uploading RVTools Data to nOps
You can easily upload RVTools export data into the nOps platform by following these steps:

Navigate to the Cloud Assessments section in nOps:

In the integrations page, locate and click on the RVTools section

Upload your RVTools export files:
- Click on the upload area
- Select your RVTools export files (.xlsx format)
- Provide a vCenter Name to identify your VMware environment
- Specify the Data Collection Date (optional)

Submit the form to complete the upload
The uploaded RVTools data will be stored in the nOps datalake and used to enhance your cloud assessment results with detailed VMware infrastructure information.
Generating RVTools Export Files
To generate the required RVTools export files for upload:
- Download and install RVTools on a system with vCenter access
- Connect to your vCenter server
- Select "Export to Excel" and save the file with all tabs included
- This export file (.xlsx format) is what you'll upload to nOps
